Other brands tend to be either too strong (adhesive) or cause skin irritation often. I love Kinesio tex performance because it's lighter on skin and stays reasonably well. Also, other brands when the tape is produced at their factories, it has more stretch on the paper than kinesio brand (meaning you may pay less for other brands but you also get less tape as well). As health care provider, I often see too many people applying on their own and not doing it properly. Please ask your providers to teach you or learn the course from the kinesio university. To maximize kinesio benefits you need a hands-on class.
